Welcome Message from our Pastor

Father Sunny Castillo

On behalf of myself, the staff, and parishioners of Mary Queen of Heaven, allow me to say that we are grateful that the Lord has called you to be a part of our parish community. If you are new to Mary Queen, welcome! I hope that you find our Church to be a place where you feel welcome and where you get to know some of your neighbors and grow in love of the Lord for many years to come.

Mary Queen is a unique parish, in that we are in the middle of a densely-populated area, but is more of the smaller, friendlier type community that one would expect to find in the country. It is a blessing to be a part of a parish where the people are as friendly and generous as they are here.

While that small, friendly character is a blessing, a smaller number of people means that we are always seeking generous souls to support and participate in the ministries of the parish. There are several ways to minister at Sunday Mass, from altar servers to singers in the choir. We have educational programs and small faith groups that meet during the week. Mary Queen also impresses me in the generous response to the monthly food collection for the Elmhurst Assistance Network, as well as our Christmas giving tree and Easter food basket donations. In this directory, you will find various ministries listed. Please prayerfully consider where the Lord may be calling to share your time, talents, and treasures.

Jesus said, “whatever you do for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Mt 23:40). May God move our hearts to serve him in the needy of our community and may he bless you through your presence in our community!

Fr. Santos "Sunny" Castillo
